The Pink Magnolia earrings capture the poised beauty of a magnolia bud just before it opens. Rising from bare spring branches, these softly enclosed blooms hold the promise of the fuller flowers to come, making them a natural expression of anticipation, renewal and fresh beginnings.

Each earring features a single magnolia bud set on a short brown-patinated bronze stem. Hand-applied enamel shades the folded petals in delicate pink and cream, preserving the softly rounded form of the unopened flower. Suspended from the wire, the bud hangs with gentle movement and creates a simple, elongated silhouette. These Pink Magnolia earrings offer a quieter interpretation of the collection, with their restrained shape allowing the subtle color and sculptural petal detail to remain the focus.

Materials: The Pink Magnolia earrings are cast in bronze with a brown patina finish and white and pink hand-enamelled flowers. The wires are 925 silver with 24kt gold plating.

About our Jewelry

Our unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. A mold is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mold of itself.

Michael Michaud

Artist Michael Michaud attended the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, where he studied under designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin and became a master in the creation and manipulation of molds. After graduating in 1980, Michael Michaud continued to perfect his craft while working under jewelry designers in the New York City area.

In 1991, he found himself working in New York City's flower district and living in the beautiful Connecticut countryside - his love of the natural beauty that surrounded him began to blend with his passion for creating jewellery which lead to the birth of Michael Michaud Jewelry.
