The English Bluebells earrings take inspiration from the arching stems and gently nodding blooms that characterize bluebell woods in spring. Their intense blue flowers appear beneath newly emerging woodland foliage, creating a fleeting display that has inspired generations of nature lovers. In the language of flowers, bluebells have carried associations with gratitude, faithfulness and quiet affection.

Three blue glass flowers descend from fine bronze stems, recreating the natural cascading habit of the plant. Michael Michaud’s signature hand patination gives the stems subtle depth, complemented by tiny 24k gold-plated pollen details within the blooms. Lighter in scale than the statement earrings, this three-flower arrangement still offers beautiful movement and color, making the English Bluebells earrings an elegant botanical accent that transitions easily from everyday wear to more dressed-up occasions.

Materials: The English Bluebells earrings are cast in hand patinated bronze with our signature green hand patinated finish, accented with cast glass blue flowers with 24kt gold plated centers. The wires are 925 silver with a 24kt gold plating.

About our Jewelry

Our unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. A mold is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mold of itself.

Michael Michaud

Artist Michael Michaud attended the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, where he studied under designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin and became a master in the creation and manipulation of molds. After graduating in 1980, Michael Michaud continued to perfect his craft while working under jewelry designers in the New York City area.

In 1991, he found himself working in New York City's flower district and living in the beautiful Connecticut countryside - his love of the natural beauty that surrounded him began to blend with his passion for creating jewellery which lead to the birth of Michael Michaud Jewelry.
