The Asparagus Vine bracelet draws on the delicate rhythm of this trailing plant as its slender stems weave and overlap. Its fine, feathery foliage gives the vine an elegant lightness, while its enduring growth has long carried associations with constancy, heartfelt connection and affection that lasts.

Linked bronze elements curve gently around the wrist, each enclosing a warm carnelian bead within slender strands of botanical foliage. Our green hand patination brings out the natural texture of the cast bronze, while the repeating carnelian accents introduce rich color throughout the design. The articulated construction allows the bracelet to follow the wrist comfortably, creating a flowing sequence of botanical forms with subtle movement and an elegant sense of continuity.

About our Jewelry

Our unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. A mold is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mold of itself.

Michael Michaud

Artist Michael Michaud attended the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious school for American craftsmen, where he studied under designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin and became a master in the creation and manipulation of molds. After graduating in 1980, Michael Michaud continued to perfect his craft while working under jewelry designers in the New York City area.

In 1991, he found himself working in New York City's flower district and living in the beautiful Connecticut countryside - his love of the natural beauty that surrounded him began to blend with his passion for creating jewellery which lead to the birth of Michael Michaud Jewelry.
